TOTAL REMODEL IN WEST HYANNIS PORT, MA

TRANSFORMING A BELOVED HOME INTO A CAPE COD GEM

Built in 1952, this ranch-style home holds precious memories of many vacations for the family that designed and maintained it over the years. In 2024, it was inherited by the couple’s four children. However, after an explosion in the heating system, the home was flooded and completely destroyed. Faced with this tragedy, the heirs decided to sell the property—it was then that Coast Carpentry Home Group acquired the property. Located in the coveted West Hyannis Port area, across from Craigville Beach. The company decided to transform the property and give it a new identity with a bold and innovative vision.

Exterior Redesign

The home’s transformation extended beyond the interior. The once-modest exterior received a stunning upgrade with new Maibec white cedar shingles and a fully refurbished roof using CertainTeed asphalt shingles for long-lasting beauty and durability. The original deck, previously small and weather-worn, was fully rebuilt and expanded to maintain sweeping views of Craigville Beach—even with the addition of the second floor.

Large windows were added throughout the back and sunroom to invite in natural light and showcase the lush backyard. The landscaping was completely revitalized, featuring a newly fenced yard, a charming firepit for evening gatherings, and an extended driveway for convenience. Together, these upgrades turned the formerly dated exterior into a polished, coastal retreat that seamlessly complements the elevated interior design.

Interior Transformation

Originally a 1,430-square-foot single-story home with three small bedrooms (including one suite), a guest bathroom, a kitchenette, a living room, and a cozy sunroom, the property has undergone a complete transformation. A reinforced foundation made way for a brand-new second floor, and the interior was entirely reimagined. The lower level now features an open-concept kitchen and living area beneath a cathedral-style ceiling with white shiplap and skylights. This floor also includes two additional bedrooms (one a suite), an office, a third full bathroom, and an expanded sunroom. A former closet was cleverly converted into access to a new staircase leading upstairs.

The second floor introduces a luxurious master suite with panoramic ocean views, a spa-like marble bathroom with heated floors and a soaking tub, a walk-in closet, a laundry room, and a family room with a wet bar and wine fridge—ideal for entertaining. Cathedral-style ceilings continue upstairs, adding a sense of space and elegance throughout. Spray foam insulation ensures both thermal and acoustic efficiency, while the renovated basement houses a modern heating and electrical system, completing the home’s thoughtful and high-performance upgrade.

A HOME REIMAGINED

Once the project is complete, the house will be listed for sale, offering the new owners the opportunity to acquire a unique property, completely renovated and with a modern design, without losing the charm and history of its origins. With its privileged location in West Hyannis Port, across from Craigville Beach, and a high-end renovation that transformed every detail of the house, the property promises to be the dream home for those seeking sophistication, comfort and a stunning ocean view. A true gem for sale, ready to provide a new phase of unforgettable memories and experiences for its future owners, with the guarantee of meticulous and high-quality work done by Coast Carpentry Home Group.
